Grace Community w/a Mission Phil’s., Inc

(A Not for profit, religious and civic  organization duly accredited Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) of Las Pinas City)

Grace Community with a Mission Phils.,Inc  (GCWAM) was established in 1999 for the purpose of uplifting the socio-economic, and religious life of  its members. GCWAM had engaged in a threefold holistic ministries, these are:

Ø       Social concerns – facilitating lot acquisition and housing for members belonging to the urban poor category.

Ø       Spiritual – By promoting avenues for the spiritual growth of its members and eventually creating churches and fellowships within and beyond GCWAM area of responsibility.

Ø       Education – As much as possible to be able to promote education drive starting from preschool to elementary  and God willing beyond that by providing quality, affordable education for its members in particular and the community in general.

Social Concerns: with the help of proper government agencies GCWAM was able to provide 13 lots for the 1^st beneficiaries of our urban poor housing for the members. This project is located in Grace Compound Blk.2 of Lot 23 in Papaya Street, Golden Acres. The association help facilitate the processing of applications fo its members until they are able to secure permit to occupy  and the contract.

At present there are more or less 40 members awaiting their opportunity for this project.

Spiritual – we started the first worship service in June of 1999 at GCWAM main office in Soldiers Hills 2 Las Pinas City with 4 families participating. Members officially organized a church called Grace Community Christian Church under the banner of GCWAM with 10 family members mostly residents of Soldiers Hills 2 and Grace Community compound.

Our activities are as follows:

Ø       Worship Service – Every Sunday at 10 AM

Ø       Extension Services -  At Grace Compound Every Sunday at 5:00 PM

Ø       Extension Bible training for Workers every Monday Night

Ø       Prayer Meeting – Wednesday at 6:00 PM

Ø       Home Bible Studies – Every Friday and Saturday

Ø       Church Planting:

1.      Grace Compound – Las Pinas City

2.      St Michael Subdivision – Las Pinas City

3.      Maricris Homes – Golden City in Imus, Cavite

GCWAM had organized two sister churches in the course of  time:

o        Urbanville Christian Fellowship -0 in Urbanville Subdivison

o        Grace Garden Church in Molino Cavite

Education – GCWAM tried to sponsor an educational program for the poor children of Golden Acres in 1999-2002 through the initiative of Rev. Virgilio and Mrs Arelene A.Larraga and few individual member who have educational background or trainings. This program was able to sponsor for free more than 50 children. Due to the high cost of training materials , books and others operational cost such as honorariums for workers, electricity etc. this program was limited to few pupils only.

This led to the formation of Grace Community Christian Academy (GCCA) At first in Christian Ville Subdivision, now in Soldiers Hills 2, both I Las Pinas City – our by-word is:

“Quality Christian Education – Very Affordable cost”

Our Course offerings for the SY 2006-2007 is  from Preschoolers:; Nursery, Kinder, Preparatory and Complete Elementary from Grades 1-6.Hopefully, we would like to offer High school programs  in the near future.

Education of our school youth is one of the many problems our nation faces today alongside with poverty. Private education is very costly, that only middle class  or rich people can afford .As Christian educators our response  is  to bring the quality kind of education that is very affordable.

Of course we, cannot minimize the value of imparting God’s word as integral in our academic pursuits to excellence.

We are hoping that someday, we can lower/decrease tuition and other school expenses, if not subsidize them. Through sponsorship program – but needs donors  and supporters who believe as reflected in our school mission and vision – that education is the key towards personal and collective success.

Challenge or Call:

 The kingdom business is a partnership – 1^st ly, it is a partnership between  God and His people., I Cor.6:1a “…as worker together with Him” and 2^nd ly-  we are fulfilling the law of Christ, by bearing one’s another’s burdens” – Galatians 6:2.
